Welcome to the Sheffield School of Rock and Pop
The Sheffield School of Rock and Pop was founded to offer rock & pop music education to young people between the ages of 11 to 16 years.
The emphasis of the school is to create and encourage new bands and students also compose their own contemporary pop/rock works under the guidance of our skilled and friendly staff.
The school has access to quality studio recording equipment and in the Christmas Term bands create their own demo tapes. The school also offers young musicians performance opportunities and feedback.
Students do not need to be in a band to join The Sheffield School of Rock and Pop and if they arrive on their own they will be allocated to an existing Rock and Pop school band based on their age and ability. To make the most of the sessions we suggest that students should be at least the equivalent of a grade 2 standard.
Sheffield School of Rock & Pop work in association with the Rockschool exam board and are pleased to offer their exams.
Alongside the high quality workshop team the school can also offer students individual tuition in the instrumental areas of:
- Saxophone, Trumpet & Winds
